Your Kin Cooperative Terms of Service ("Agreement")
This Agreement was last modified on April 22nd 2025
This Agreement documents the legally binding terms and conditions attached to the use of kin.coop (Kin Cooperative Limited) services.
By using or accessing kin.coop services in any way, including viewing or browsing https://kin.coop, or by adding your own content, you are agreeing to be bound by these Terms of Service.
Any participation in kin.coop services will constitute acceptance of this agreement.
In addition, when using these particular services, you shall be subject to any posted guidelines or rules applicable to such services. If you do not agree to abide by the terms herein, please do not use kin.coop services.
Membership
Anyone who shares the co-operative's Purpose and Principles as provided in the Rules and wants to use kin.coop services is welcome to join.
In order to access kin.coop's services, you must become a Member of Kin Cooperative Limited by buying one share at the cost of £1.
This share is not withdrawable and will not be returned to you if you terminate your membership or for any reasons.
This share makes you a co-owner of Kin Cooperative Limited and gives you one vote in the annual general meeting, which will take place online. All voting and governance interactions with the Cooperative will happen by email or via kin.coop services unless the Board is explicitly informed of a Member’s reasonable need for alternative forms of communication to enable fair participation.
We aim to create a safe community and build trust, therefore, we expect user members to:
- Provide accurate information about yourself;
- Only create one account (your own) and use it for personal purposes.
- Not share your password, give access to your account to others or transfer your account to anyone else.
You cannot use kin.coop if:
- You are under 13 years old.
- You have previously been suspended or banned for breach of these conditions.
In addition, members may be required to pay a regular (monthly or annual) administrative fee unless they demonstrate that this would be a barrier to their ongoing membership.
Not for profit fiscal host
Kin.coop is not a bank and is not authorised to hold money for individuals. Contributions belongs to the kin group (or "Mutual Aid Club") that it is asigned to. Kin Cooperative Limited acts as a "fiscal host" for the group by holding money in the co-operative's bank accounts and managing the finances of the group on its behalf.
By creating or joining a kin group, you authorise Kin Cooperative Limited to act as the group's fiscal host and acknowledge understanding that contributions are not "deposited" with Kin Cooperative Limited but become the property of the kin group and that the kin group is solely responsible for how contributions are taken in and how money is given out.
Termination
Kin.coop reserves the right to terminate or suspend your access to kin.coop services, without any advance notice, for any breach or suspected breach of the Co-operative's Rules or behaviour that is seen to undermine the community of trust or failure to pay the administrative fee without reason. Termination may result in the forfeiture and destruction of all information associated with your account.
Contributions to kin groups associated with a terminated member are the property of those kin groups and the member will need to appeal directly to the individuals in those kin groups if they believe they are owed money by the group.
Moderation
Kin.coop moderates all content on kin.coop services including user-generated content (i.e. posts and direct messages).

The Site and all of its original content are the sole property of Kin Cooperative Limited and are, as such, fully protected by the appropriate international copyright and other intellectual property rights laws.
